Helicopter makes emergency landing in Prospect Heights, near Chicago Executive Airport

A helicopter made an emergency landing Wednesday morning in Prospect Heights, near the Chicago Executive Airport, coming to rest on Milwaukee Avenue.

The pilot, alone in the helicopter, landed about 6:40 a.m. near Milwuakee Avenue and Apple Drive, just south of the airport, according to the Prospect Heights Police Deparment.

No one was injured, police said. The cause of the emergency was not immediately known, according to police.

Southbound lanes on Milwuakee Avenue between Palatine and Des Plains River roads reopened at 7:30 a.m. Northbound lanes remained closed.
